It’s not known whether or not lightsabres fall under weapons control legislation
A recent national census in the Czech Republic turned up some interesting news that might be of interest to the Empire – there appears to be a small population of traitorous Jedi living in the country – approximately 15 000 of them, with the largest group (approx. 4 000) living in and around capital, Prague.
This is not the first time the adherents of the Jedi Temple have turned up in national census – The USA boasts an admirable number, as do other countries in Europe. Britain and New Zealand even have formal Jedi religious institutions. 390 000 Britons claimed the title of Jedi Knight in their 2001 census.
There doesn’t seem to be a heavy presence of Jedi here in South Africa, going on the available statistics – but perhaps we are fewer in numbers in Mzansi than our human cousins’ statistical thresholds allow for.
“These are not the demographic statistics you are looking for…”
There was some debate in the Czech Statistical Office as to whether the option for “Jedi Knight” should be included, but as a spokesperson remarked:
It’s not up to the statisticians to say what is or is not a religion.
If you’ve felt the midichlorians move inside you, you can always go check out the Jedi Church online, where they have all the information you need to begin your padawan journey on the light side of the Force. A good start might be to memorise the Jedi code, as published on the site:
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.
Quite. Master Yoda would be so proud, if he were around today.
[Thanks, Steyn!]
