China’s hottest new couple, ChangZi
Love is in the air at Yunnan Wild Animal Park in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, as millions of Chinese internet users have flooded staff at the park with requests to keep a very odd couple together.
Recently, a local television news station aired the story of star-crossed lovers Changmao, a ram, and Chunzi, a doe, who have been spending a lot of time together over the past few weeks- and I mean together (!). The couple are nearly inseparable, but the zoo was concerned at some of their behaviour, so they turned to the Chinese weibos (a sort of micro-Twitter) to see what Chinese thought of the pair.
The response has been a resounding endorsement of the couple remaining in the same enclosure. Some of the more romantic declarations included:
“I cried when I watched the video, this is love… they have overcome the obstacles and are finally together!”
“Love between a sheep and deer is wonderful, perhaps something strange will be produced, I urge everyone to watch this closely!”
Another user proclaimed the story of the inseparable pair had “made me trust love again”.
Quite.
