A few months ago comedian and actor, Will Ferrell approached the Pabst Brewing Company to ask if he could shoot a series of TV commercials for their Old Milwaukee beer, completely free of charge. These are the results, and they are amazing.
Ferrell, famous for roles like Ron Burgundy in Anchorman and Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights, is a huge fan of the beer and it appears it is that, and that alone that motivated him to make the ads.
Will approached Old Milwaukee because he’s a big fan of the beer and thought it would be fun to make the commercials, and we couldn’t be more excited that he did,” Bryan Crowley, Pabst Brewing’s chief marketing officer, wrote in an email sent Tuesday to the Quad-City Times.
It is unclear why the former SNL cast-member chose Davenport as the location for the TV spots as the beer is actually from Wisconsin, or why in fact he likes it, as it has a reputation as being an average to sub-par drink.
Whatever his reasoning, I’m glad he did it, and after you’ve watched the videos, I’m sure you’ll agree.
