Would you consider it a selling point for an alcoholic beverage to depict Adolf Hitler on its label? Didn’t think so. Which is why it’s so fascinating that a man, who goes by the name Rolande Marte, is attempting to sell bottles of wine and Schnapps with an image of the dictator gracing the bottle. Swastika, and so on.
Roland is suspected to be selling spirits in “nostalgic bottles of former historical greats” – if a website posting about his link to the products is to be believed. A proscutor called Wilfried Siegele is currently investigating whether the Hitler-adorned wine and Schnapps allegedly being sold are in fact illegal for their glorification of the Nazi era.
Purely from a branding point of view it would certainly be an eye-opener to see how many of these creepy bottles of booze, if any, have been ordered and paid for.
