For centuries, people have been looking up at the night sky, admiring beautiful constellations and pondering the meaning of things greater than themselves. As beautiful as the view is, this video shows what things look like from the other side, and it’s pretty amazing.
The images were taken from aboard the International Space Station with a special low-light 4k-camera. Snapped from 240 miles (about 380km) above the Earth’s surface, the crew of expedition 28 and 29 captured 18 astonishing time-lapse sequences between August and October of this year.
Designer and videographer Michael König then got hold of the footage and turned it all into a beautiful, dreamy video that captures all the beauty that we can’t always see from our terrestrial perch.
Enjoy the view.
