The movie, Hyde Park on Hudson is due for release next year, and is going to tell the story of Franklin D Roosevelt, the US president who was responsible for leading America through World War II and to economic recovery, and the only president to ever have been elected for more than two terms. And who better to play the part than Bill Murray?
The script for Hyde Park on Hudson is based on a radio play, and concentrates on the historic public event — the first time a reigning British monarch visited the United States — and how Anglo-American relations improved considerably after FDR and wife Eleanor (Olivia Williams) played host to the royals at their estate in Hyde Park, NY, following a more formal gathering in Washington, DC.
The film will also deal with FDR’s battle with paralysis, after contracting late life polio. More photo’s from the set can be found here.
The movie is expected in June of next year.
