The former Republican vice-presidential contender, Sarah Palin, is alleged to have taken cocaine and smoked weed in a new controversial and highly anticipated biography written by Joe McGinniss. Oh, it’s also alleged that she cheated on her husband (though she’s vehemently denied this before) and let the kids fend for themselves quite a bit.
The revelations obviously juxtapose her supposed conservative family values, and might damage any plans she has of running for the White House next year.
Aptly named: ‘The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin”, the author alleges that the mother of five was seen snorting cocaine off the top of an oil drum while snowmobiling with friends just before being elected as Governor of Alaska in 2006.
It also alleges she smoked weed with a professor while attending Mat-Su College in Alaska and had a six-month affair with husband Todd’s business partner 1996.
And, she’s also alleged to have cheated on Todd with a basketball player, Glen Rice, a little while before Sarah and Todd tied the knot.
The book comes out in the US next week, but some of its contents have somehow been reported in the National Enquirer.
McGinniss’ agent wouldn’t comment on the magazine’s claims, but said the Enquirer often gets these reports right.
Obviously there hasn’t been any immediate response from the Palin camp.
McGinniss supposedly spent three years researching her life for the highly anticipated book and even rented a house next to hers last year so he could observe Palin family life.
This will be interesting indeed.
