It’s voting time again at NameYourHood, and this time we are voting for the final names for neighbourhoods 3 and 4. Neighbourhood 3 is the area in which you might know the restaurant Beluga. Right next to the traffic department. Such a welcomed neighbourhood name – I personally struggle to explain to people how to get to that area. Calling it Green Point is too broad and if people don’t know Beluga then you’re really screwed! Another suggested name for the neighbourhood is “Prestwich” which someone submitted (and it made the shortlist) to commemorate those who suffered as a result of slavery. Very cool.
Check out the other names on the shortlist and vote for your favourite now at www.nameyourhood.co.za
Neighbourhgood 4 is also very exciting as it has dissected that portion of Gardens which contains the Comapny Gardens and Parliament, taking you down a bit further along Adderly Street. Some names on the final shortlist include “The Old City” and “The Seat.” Very cool names indeed! You should see the others there too. Click here to check them out.
Remember there is a fully virtual walk-through that you can do for each neighbourhood. Not just a map overview, but you can actually walk around each neighbourhood on the website! Explore your ‘hood’ at www.nameyourhood.co.za
