With all these incidents of hackers lately, I’m waiting for Angelina Jolie to pop out somewhere and some guy named Cereal Killer to commandeer my TV. In this incident someone hacked a digital roadside sign in Flagstaff, Arizona, warning civilians of a ‘rogue panda on the rampage’. What a legend.
The road sign was reported to the Flagstaff Police Department at around 3 a.m. in the morning. I would love to hear the 911-call recording of that.
Police Lt. Ken Koch (haha) actually issued a statement in the Arizona Daily Sun to the terrified citizens of Flagstaff. Here’s what he said:
“We want to assure all citizens of Flagstaff that there is no problem with rogue pandas.”
Now to pull something like this off, you’d need specialised equipment, according to Mackenzie Nuno, a spokewoman for ADOT. If anyone has such equipment, may I just point out that there is one of those signs as you come down Sir Lowry’s Pass, just near the petrol station. I dare you.
Im just going to go ahead and say it: Pandamonium.
