The colonel just. won’t. give. up. The funny thing about this instruction is that there is a very strong chance Gaddafi won’t actually see its outcome. He recently decided that victory or martyrdom are his only options, and with rebels teaming all over Tripoli, the October postponement is a long time from now.
A law firm based in Essex, northeast London, has said that it’s the only firm in England and Wales acting for the Gaddafi family, and has been doing so since the beginning of the year.
Defending itself to anyone who is asking, Edwards Duthie has recently lodged two cases with Mr Justice Edwards-Stuart, of the Queen’s Bench, alleging that the rebel diplomats are trespassing by occupying the Libyan London embassy.
Bravely, Shaun Murphy, a senior partner at the firm with 34 years of litigation experience, correctly emphasised that anyone was “entitled to legal representation,” and that the firm was just doing its job.
No stranger to defending murderers and the like, Murphy said that they had taken up a legal challenge with the aim of removing representatives of the National Transitional Council from Libya’s London embassy and consulate buildings.

Murphy was not shy to say a little about the firm’s achievements and how it is reasonable that the colonel be represented by the firm:
I don’t mean to boast but if you look us up you will see we are very good. I think the rule of law is that anybody is entitled to legal representation. I think any lawyer would agree with that.
Claims for possession orders have been adjourned until October, and with things going the way they are for the colonel, it’s unlikely he will win this case.
