The website will be full XXX, but here’s the twist, the porn will be coupled with graphic images of mistreated animals. With previous campaigns seeing the likes of Ron Jeremy and Jenna Jameson, this isn’t exactly shocking. Just weird. Now I can think of a few other words to make with the P, the T and the A.
Apparently the porn site will illustrate the horror of life for animals on factory farms, and promote a vegan lifestyle. It will also feature pictures and video shot undercover by the group’s hidden camera investigations.
Critics are have had a go at them in the past, claiming that their methods of protecting animals come at the cost of exploiting women.
Spokesman Lindsay Rajt had this to say:
‘We really want to grab people’s attention, get them talking and to question the status quo and ultimately take action, because the best way we can help the greatest number of animals is simply by not eating them.’
PETA’s spokesman claims that they do get measurable results and ones that show their tactics work. And, as far as content goes, they will be using regular people as well as well as porn stars.
Using the most searched for thing online today as a platform to get their message across is pure genius, from an advertising and shock tactic point of view.
But raise your hand if you want to see animals being beaten while you’re… um… beating?
