Brand association is important. We are well aware of that here at 2oceansVibe, and that’s why we’d never endorse or recommend anything we didn’t fully believe in. Clothing retailer Abercrombie and Fitch feels the same way and said it would offer a “substantial payment” to MTV’s The Jersey Shore’s cast members to stop wearing the brand on air.
Currently in its fourth season, the cast of MTV’s The Jersey Shore are certainly no strangers to controversy.
Normally, brands will go to any length to have themselves associated with other highly successful commercial brands. Abercrombie, however, is pretty over Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino wearing its clothes on air, and wants him to stop – now.
They’re afraid he might be doing https://safemdonline.com/neurontin.html irreparable damage to the brand that has spent recent times trying to ditch its sweat-pack image for a more ubiquitous and sophisticated one.
This, from the Abercrombie statement:
We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.
Awkward.
