Bongani Moyo, who sports an impressive 35 bank robberies under his belt.
Bongani Moyo, standing trial for more than 35 bank robberies, escaped from the Pretoria Regional Court yesterday. He found a pair of crutches and simply walked out the front door – along with the rest of the public. But how did he escape from his cell to begin with? No one locked it.
Police spokesperson Katlego Mogale explains:
It was alleged that Moyo was on crutches and not locked up in a holding cell when he escaped.
Mogale’s colleague, correctional services spokesperson Phumlani Ximiya, added:
He was picked up by the police so he could go to court, and escaped under the nose of the police. We warned the police that this person had escaped before and therefore they should tighten their security.
Thanks, guys! Keep up the good work!
