This feels like it should have been news sooner, but it wasn’t. Which is why we’re going to talk about it now. Hege Dalen and wife Toril Hansen were two of several Norwegians who, on hearing gunshots and screaming coming from Utöyan Island, got into their boat and drove across the water to try and help.
This is sort of the exact opposite of that guy who played dead. The couple picked up several young victims, and were able to drive them back to safety; their boat couldn’t fit everyone at once, so they made four round trips, dodging bullets each time.
So hey, well that’s pretty great.
