Wayne Becomes Whallid

Proteas pace bowler, Wayne Parnell, has converted from Christianity to Islam. And from reports he may well change his name to “Whallid”.

Protea team manager, Dr. Mohammed Moosajee, said that Parnell had made the decision months ago and rejected rumours that Parnell was influenced by teammates, Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir in his decision.

However, Moosajee couldn’t confirm whether Parnell’s new name will, in fact, be Whallid, which means “great one”.

Several of his teammates have said that Parnell is “deadly serious” about the decision, and since the end of the Indian Premier League, hasn’t had a drop of firewater. In the past, however, he had a lot. I mean a lot.
