The Dirty Skirts long awaited third album, Lost In The Fall, is finally hitting the streets, with the first launch party happening this Saturday 23rd July at Zula Bar, Cape Town. Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria will be after that. 2oceansvibe has personally had a taste of the new album and we can categorically state that they have nailed it again. With their unmistakable sound and their intelligence to transform and grow faster and better than a lot of other local bands, it is no surprise that they have once again pushed the envelope.
The album was recorded at Heritage Studios in Cape Town with Brendyn Rusti Rossouw, mixed by Neal Snyman,
mastered at Sterling Sound Studios in New York and released through 2 Feet, an imprint of Sheer Sound cc. “Long. Beautiful. Complex. Real. Deep. It’s been two years of intensive work, and the last six months have been ridiculously intense. The last month, well, that’s been insane. Last week nearly broke us. We’ve given everything to this album. We’ve made music that has satisfied us deeply.” – Jeremy de Tolly.LOST IN THE FALL is quite different from any previous offerings from THE DIRTY SKIRTS. Whether it’s an evolution or a sudden change in direction – it’s heavier in parts, and it’s deeper in content. They have written some of the most complex and interesting music of their careers so far. To them, LOST IN THE FALL is the best work they’ve ever done and it is reflected in the 12 tracks of deep, beautiful and intense music.“LITF is a visceral, dark, lyrical and dreamy album. It’s our finest work to date,
and we’ve poured our heart and soul into it.”
This is not to be missed. 2oceansvibe will be there and we suggest you get there to. It’s gonna be one helluva party.
And for the rest of you who like to live on the edge, you can win tickets! We’re giving away 2 tickets for EACH launch gig.
