$1.99 Skin Cancer App – Thank You iPhone

If you think that owning an iPhone is a waste of money, think again. An American company called Health Discovery Corporation has invented an app, called MelApp, that uses mathematical algorithms and image based pattern recognition technology, to detect early stage melanoma. What’s that? Can’t get an American iTunes account? Oh yes you can.

With summer on the way, and the recent awesome, warm weather, we should all be aware that skin cancer is a very serious, and escalating problem.

Using the app is fairly simple and by all means cheaper than heading to an oncologist or dermatologist, especially if you lack the luxury of medical insurance. It’s as easy as taking a photo of the suspected mole or freckle, and uploading it to a database licensed to the John Hopkins University Medical Centre.

For those not residing in the States, Click here to get an American iTunes account.

Now if there was only an app that made you instantly rich, famous and all chicks look like Megan Fox. I’d pay at least $3.99 for that.
