The pressure finally got to the fiery red-headed Rebekah Brooks. In the last few minutes, news agency Reuters has officially announced that News International CEO, Rebekah Brooks, has resigned and will be replaced by Tom Mockridge. This comes after a scathing attack in an apparent four-page letter from Elisabeth, and the second biggest NI shareholder declaring “she has to go.”
Twitter has just begun to do what it does best – spread breaking news. A short while ago the stream of tweets declaring Brooks’ resignation began, but it’s always better to wait and see an official one.

It just makes it that little bit more valid because we all know that right now, anything is possible over at News International.
Elisabeth Murdoch is reported to have told friends that Brooks had “fucked the company” and Saudi Prince Al-waleed bin Talal, the shareholder in question, had made his position clear that she should leave.
It’s pretty clear that Elisabeth, 42, is rather pissed off that her father’s media empire has been thrown into turmoil and it appears from her apparent outburst that she holds Brooks responsible over the handling of the crisis.
