According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday “swore” in Anas Abdul- Razzaq Na’em as the new governor of Hama. Later, al-Assad received Na’em and instructed him with his directives, wishing him success in his duties. But was he really there?
Regular readers may recall what a Chinese provincial government did last month when they failed to actually do what they said they were going to do.
Now, the Syrian Arab News Agency is guilty too. Ironically though, this time a doctored image has come from a regime that constantly accuses the western media of manipulating the facts.
Bashar al-Assad is on the right – look at his feet. He definitely appears to be levitating.
The report remains on the agency’s website and it appears they’re sticking to their version of events for now.
