“Ti amiamo, Armani” means (roughly): “We love you Armani, and your timeless style – and we need you to design our tracksuits for London 2012”. That’s what Italy’s Olympic Committee has arranged for the Azzurri for the Summer Olympics next year.
Although details of the deal are still under wraps (i.e. maybe he’s not actually designing the tracksuits – although that would be fabulous), it has been announced that Giorgio Armani is the new outfitter of Italy’s Olympic team.
Drilling deeper, the partnership is a snug fit, with the fashion house having many connections to sport. David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Nadal have modelled for Armani in the past, and the designer also controls the Milan basketball team.
Can’t wait to see the opening ceremony ensembles.
