Bafana, Benson and Moses are a threesome who really love the finer things in life. Particularly, pricy watches. It appears this Johannesburg trio of thieves will pick up a stray Rolex whenever they get the chance, really. So they were thrilled when their case was struck off the roll in the Pretoria Regional Court yesterday.
Bafana Mthembu, 31, Benson Mbatha, 35, and Moses Maleka, 33, are suspects in a number of burglary cases, and most recently for the armed robbery of a woman whose Rolex watch and diamond earrings caught their eye. They were arrested on Wednesday last week in affluent Illovo (where they hang out, naturally).
The three amigos appeared in court yesterday, but left the dock (presumably high fiving), after their case was struck off the roll on a procedural issue – they had not appeared before a magistrate within 48 hours after their arrest.
Unfortunately for them, they were re-arrested four hours later.
