Loyiso will be dropping by the 2oceansVibe Radio studios for a chat with Rich Hardiman and Lindsay Williams, hosts of The Morning Meeting about his new show, “Life and Times”. You can tune in live online by going HERE. Or you can listen on your phone by going to www.2ov.fm (on your phone).
Loyiso stole the limelight on 2oceansVibe.com recently, when he responded to a column penned by 2oceansVibe columnist, Sipho Hlongwane, titled “Where Are All The Good Comedians?”
The column, and the response, sparked off a furore, and the health of the South African comedy scene was debated across the ether, on blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and 2oceansVibe Radio, where Sipho Hlongwane defended his position live on air to celebrated SA comedians, Rob van Vuuren and Martin Evans.
Loyiso Gola’s unique sense of humour, and affinity towards openly frank and observational commentary has elevated his standing to the top of the comedy scene in South Africa. At the age of 25 he has already won a South African Comedy Award, and has been nominated for the Best Comedian of the Year Award at the Stars of Mzansi Awards 2008.
2011 sees Loyiso Gola celebrate 10 years of performance in South Africa. To that end, he’ll be performing live at the CTICC this coming Friday.
