The internet is just the right place to find really disturbing stuff, and I try my very best to steer clear of it. But, when I saw this nightmare story appear in my RSS feed, I had to write about it. Here’s what the feed said: “AUSTIN, Texas — The body of a missing woman has been found inside a restaurant ventilation duct.”
26-year old Jamie Minor had last been seen on the twenty-third of May, after she was sent home from her job at the W Hotel for erratic behaviour.
During that same evening, surveillance video from the restaurant where she’d once worked showed Minor trying to get into the restaurant through the locked side entrance. When she couldn’t manage to get into the restaurant, she decided to climb into the restaurant’s air duct system.
On the second of June, maintenance staff found some of her belongings near one of the ducts, but it wasn’t until Saturday that the police decided that it was time to investigate the ducts. They discovered minor’s body stuck between the first and second floors, she simply wasn’t able to move forwards, nor backwards.
The mystery is why she decided to climb into the ducts in the first place, considering that the restaurant’s front door was open. Apparently, she had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder years earlier, and that can make you do some very irrational things.
I don’t know about you, but I, for one, am very disturbed by this story.
