There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming Kings of Leon gig. Earlier in the year, fans were disappointed to hear that they would have to wait until November, due to drummer Nathan Followill’s bicep injury. Then came the debate over who would open for the Kings. Well the wait is over. And it’s not the Parlotones. *Click through for updated details
Big Concerts have reported that Taxi Violence will be opening for Kings of Leon on their tour to South Africa.
Scroll to bottom for an update.
Taxi Violence’s most recent album launch, Unplugged: Long Way From Home, saw the band work with the likes of producer Brendyn ‘Rusti’ Rossouw, from Nashville, Tennessee. Rossouw’s studio has worked with the likes of Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton.
After opening for Billy Talent, in August, and Powder Finger, in June, fans will be pleased to see Taxi Violence getting the recognition that they deserve.
If for some reason you still aren’t convinced, here is why they cracked the nod.
[Update]: The original report was based on a tweet that has since been deleted. We apologise for any confusion that may have arisen. Big Concerts say that Taxi Violence are a “good option” for the opening act of the Kings Of Leon tour, and can neither confirm nor deny at this point that Taxi Violence are the opening act.
But judging by the spontaneously joyful reactions of fans to the report on a variety of social networks, Taxi Violence are without a doubt the fans’ choice for a Kings Of Leon opening act.
If anyone has a screenshot of the tweet confirming Taxi Violence as the opening act to Kings Of Leon, mail it to us.
