We’ve been following the developments of the Greek financial crisis closely here at 2oceansvibe. What’s more is that dogs have been absolutely killing it this year and so we bring you, Loukanikos, who has hated Greece’s austerity measures, corrupt politicians, and the plight of the Greek people since 2008.
As a dedicated protestor, Loukanikos, a common Greek word meaning “sausage”, is willing to brave riot police and tear gas for his beliefs.
Athens’s most famous stray dog has barked and marched alongside the protesters since demonstrations began in December 2008.
It’s believed he grew accustomed to the regular patting and feeding he received from protestors that constantly camped in and around Syntagma Square in the Greek capital during the ongoing protests.
The beige dog of mixed race has become a hero and has a cult following that sees him regularly make it onto the Greek national news apparently.
He has definitely hit the big time and his Facebook page already numbers over 6 000 “likes”. Check out some of his best work here.
It seems the common house cat has a lot of work to do if it’s to impress anyone for this year’s most amazing animal competitions.
