When it was announced last week that Hugh Hefner’s fiancee Crystal Harris had called off their wedding, it was hard not to feel bad for the old guy.  For about two hours.  And then he got himself a new Playmate – the woman Crystal had named as her maid of honour no less.

Hefner’s marriage to Harris was scheduled for last Saturday, but she got cold feet at the last minute and effectively dumped Hugh at the altar.  Certainly not one to play the jilted victim, 86-year-old Hefner is reportedly already dating Anna Berglund, who was Playboy’s January 2011 Playmate, obviously.

Berglund has wasted no time in moving into Hefner’s bedroom at the Playboy mansion, and the loved up couple are calling one another ‘babe’.  It really is touching how Anna, 25, is helping everyone get over the heartbreak of the wedding cancellation which, lest we forget, was almost a whole week ago.

I guess that’s what the maid of honour is there for.  Support for the bride if the wedding goes well, and substitution if things just go pear.
