Junrey Balawing
The Shortest Man in the World contest is a really fierce competition. Last year, Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal took the crown from Edward Niño Hernández Of Columbia. But his reign was short-lived, as this weekend Junrey Balawing from the Philippines turned 18 – and therefore became a “man”. He holds the new Guinness World Record at 67.08 centimeters tall, and weighs a mere 6.5 kilograms.
His parents call him “their lucky charm,” because his father Reynaldo, a blacksmith, had been unemployed until he was born, then found a job after his birth. Sweet, man!
