Social networks were all ablaze yesterday with rumours that Will Smith had died on the set of his latest movie, currently being shot in New Zealand.
Mediafetcher.com claimed that he had fallen to his death off a cliff. The Afrikaans magazine Huisgenoot reports that soon thousands of people were trying to get answers as to the validity of the claim.
Neither Smith’s website nor his Facebook page had been updated since Saturday, so it seems unlikely that Smith is dead. Although he’s no stranger to alleged death; in 2009 there was a web prank that claimed that he had died in a car accident.
I doubt though that Smith will ever be nearly as not dead as Pauly Shore or Bobby McFerrin, the guy who sang “Don’t Worry Be Happy”.
