Heh. So apparently they’ve found the skull of Saint Vitalis of Assisi, the patron saint of venereal diseases and, it’s going up for auction. Because what else would you do if you found it? Assisi won sainthood for performing miracles on those with bladder and genital disorders in 13th century Italy. Please buy his head.
Because this is the kind of thing that just makes more sense as it goes, the 13th century Italian saint’s head is preserved in a 17th century Queen Anne case, and previously belonged to an Irish family in County Louth; they found it in an outhouse.
They’re valuing the thing at between ZAR 8,000 and 12,000, so I mean if you’re feeling like getting yourself some venereal head, head on over to Duleek in County Meath on Sunday, which is when they’re auctioning that sucker.
