Viagra might be the saviour for many men in the sack, but it turns out that man’s love-drug of choice might be causing hearing loss.
UK researchers surveyed drugs watchdogs in the UK and other parts of the world and have found 47 cases where people have experienced sudden hearing loss, linked to Viagra and other pills like it.
There were another 233 cases in the US, but these had to be excluded as not enough information was gathered from them to draw accurate conclusions.
Reuters has also recently reported that a new US study has concluded that the chances of hearing loss are doubled when taking Viagra. The research has shown that in men over 40, taking Viagra, the rate of hearing loss experienced was one in three, while only one in six men, who didn’t take the drug, reported hearing loss.
Scientists suspect that the hearing loss may be caused by a chain of chemical reactions, causing damage to the inner ear.
I suspect men might just overlook this side affect though.
