South African cricketing legend and loyal 2oceansvibe pundit, Herschelle Gibbs, has finally made the announcement about how you can win his man of the match medal he received for his magnificent 175 runs from 111 balls in the infamous one day international match between South Africa and Australia. The one where we scored 438. Details after the jump.
Earlier this year Gibbs set about giving away some of his memorabilia he had obtained throughout his expansive career with the Proteas.
He cited that he had been giving away memorabilia for the majority of his career and that he was OK with giving away this truly special medal.
On Saturday Hersch tweeted the following information:
@hershybru: To win da 438 game medal peeps, tel me who wil be da top 5 run scorers in ipl4 and how many runs each guy will end up with.u only hav 1 chanc.
@hershybru: Entries will close 11th may at 10pm indian time.
Hersch added that if nobody is spot on with their predictions, the next closest will win.
The current standings are as follows:
1. Virender Sehwag – 424 runs.
2. Sachin Tendulkar – 365 runs.
3. Ambati Rayudu – 349 runs.
4. Virat Kohli – 348 runs.
5. Paul Valthaty – 345 runs.
It’s going to be hard to top Sehwag as he is in sublime form but the other names are bound to shift as the tournament comes to a close in about three weeks.
Chris Gayle, a good mate of Herschelle’s, smashed a very quick ton on Friday night and ended his innings on 107 off 46 balls. I’d be sure to include him in my list.
So, you better hurry and get your tweet over to Hersch, you only have until 19h00 South African time on Wednesday!
