At approximately this time last week, Seth Rotherham, Bruce Good and I were taking in the Royal Wedding at the 2oceansvibe Media Compound when we noticed something odd. What was it? It was Princess Beatrice’s hat of course. SilverStreak has already alluded to its ridiculousness this morning. Now it’s become a Photoshop hit too.
A fair number of people noticed this hat I’m sure. There really wasn’t anything subtle about it to be honest. Either you liked it, or you loathed it.
HollywoodLife.com managed to catch up with the milliner who came up with the creation, Philip Treacy, in New York:
My inspiration was beauty and elegance it’s a 21st century royal wedding. No, they didn’t tell me [what they wanted] because I’ve known them for a long time and I wanted them to look gorgeous and beautiful.
They trusted me to make them. Gorgeous and beautiful can be open to interpretation … I thought they looked gorgeous and beautiful. But no one is crying if anyone didn’t.
Ok. Thanks for that. Your hat has been immortalised. Princess Beatrice’s ridiculous Royal Wedding Hat page on Facebook here.
