‘StolenCameraFinder’: Finding Stolen Cameras With Embedded Serial Codes

Yay, future. If you've had a digital camera stolen, you can upload a photo taken with the missing camera to StolenCameraFinder.com and it'll use the serial number embedded in the image to search for matching photos online - meaning you can find the douche who took your stuff.

Yay, future. If you’ve had a digital camera stolen, you can upload a photo taken with the missing camera to StolenCameraFinder.com and it’ll use the serial number embedded in the image to search for matching photos online – meaning you can find the douche who took your stuff.

I mean, this assumes that whoever ended up with your camera is going to be uploading their new pics online, but that’s what pretty much everyone does, right? This does also mean that people putting up photos anonymously, or sharing a camera, can be found out – which could be a tiny privacy concern.

Still. Handy.
