How often do you forget where you parked your car in a packed parking lot? It’s one of the annoying little ‘jokes’ that life loves to play on us. And it makes you look really lame on a first date when you can’t find your wheels after dinner and a movie. A young Australian has developed a smartphone app with a simple yet effective way of remembering where you’ve parked.
The iParkedHere software allows you to key in the location of your car in the street or in a car park so you don’t have to memorise that you parked next to the ‘Vote for Julius’ poster on the third street pole. This smart little piece of thinking has reportedly been a runaway success in Australia and is the brain child of a schoolboy.
Brandon Cowan has clearly watched his parents ranting about ‘losing their car again’ one too many times and thought it had got really old.
Following the success of iParkedHere, he says he’s thinking of skipping university altogether and going straight into business after school.
“I’m not 100-percent sure what I want to do after school but probably something to do with what I am doing now,” Cowan told The Sydney Morning Herald.
Ever practical, young Brandon is now developing an app for shopping lists.
