There are actually two massive stories here, but I didn’t want to litter that headline. You’re here now anyway, right? Exactly. Well listen to this – not only was the Euromillions lottery won this weekend (£121 million jackpot = R1.3 billion), but the US Mega Millions lottery (coincidentally posting an equally rare jackpot of $312 million, which comes to R2.13 billion) was ALSO won. One person won that entire jackpot. That’s a lot of tin, my boet.
This, from CNN:
One lucky winner in upstate New York chose the right numbers in Friday night’s Mega Millions lottery, in which last-minute ticket sales increased the jackpot from $312 million to $319 million, New York Lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said Saturday.
The winning ticket was sold at Coulson’s News Central in Albany, New York.
If the winner chose the cash option when buying the ticket, he or she will receive a one-time, lump-sum payment of $202.9 million. That amount reflects all the cash in the Mega Millions pool and is thesixth-largest jackpot in its history, according to New York Lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman.

Shame – imagine that was you. Can you imagine trying to get to the lottery place with the ticket. Would you lock it in a safe? Or would you play it cool?
Personally, I would first spend about an hour at home, just rubbing the ticket all over my body. I’d toss it around and play hide and seek games with it in the room. Like cats do with dead mice.
Then I’d call the place and tell them to come to me to get the ticket.
“Sorry Mr. Rotherham – we don’t offer that service. You will need to bring the ticket to us.”
“Oh. Ok. ‘Cos I was going to give you a million bucks.”
[doorbell: ‘ding-dong!!’]
You will recall that I bought tickets to the Euromillions lottery. I showed you my numbers as well. Needless to say, I didn’t win. But I am upset I didn’t get a ticket for the US Mega Millions. Very naughty. I could have nailed it.
How did you guys do?
You know you can buy tickets to both of those lotteries (and all the others around the world) at www.2oceansvibelottos.com?
Remember, “If you’re not buying a few tickets for the big draws (and these are BIG), then you’ve kind of missed the whole point of being able to live the holiday. Just like what is suggested in all books about success (including the likes of “The Secret” and variations thereof), if you’re not able to visualise the success you wish to achieve, then you probably won’t get there.
Being able to dream is the basis of all of these formulas – it unlocks the potential. Dropping a few bucks on lottery tickets is as basic as that formula gets.”
