The Sharks will be playing their game against the Crusaders at Twickenham on March 27.
As you may already know from my previous posts (here and here), the game had to be moved due to the damage caused to the Crusaders’ home ground, the AMI Stadium, in Christchurch. It’s also sad that the stadium won’t host any World Cup games either.
But the good news is that the game is on and that £5 from each ticket sold will go towards raising funds for the Red Cross earthquake appeal.
A spokesman for the English Rugby Union (RFU) said: “It’s fantastic news that we were able to find a date that would enable us to host the game as the centrepiece of a weekend of fundraising for the people of Christchurch.”and “Having some of the southern hemisphere’s best players on display at Twickenham will be a treat for all English based fans of Super Rugby.”
That’s quite the turnaround after the RFU said last week that it just could not be done.
The game kicks off at will kick off at 18:00. Huzza!
