Crusty rocker Bryan Adams is about to become a dad for the first time.  At 51, Adams – who is responsible for nostalgic pop anthems ‘Summer of  69′ and ’18 Til I Die’ – clearly believes it’s never too late to have a happy childhood.  Or, for that matter, to have a child.

Adams and his multi-tasking PA-turned-girlfriend Alicia Grimaldi are expecting a child in May.

‘Alicia and I are expecting a baby. She helped me start my foundation years ago and it looks like she’ll be running the family now,’ says Adams.

The singer recently muddied the waters addressed the rumours surrounding the pregnancy on Twitter.  He posted a link to a news article on his impending fatherhood, including a quote from an ‘unnamed friend and neighbour’.  He commented on the quote by tweeting, ‘This article is sort of correct (except for the ‘friend’ bit).’

We’re unsure whether at the time Alicia was ‘sort of’ or 100% pregnant.  All we know it that she’s seven months along now and that Bryan still plans to be 18 at his kid’s 18th.
