After the earthquake that hit New-Zealand last month the Canterbury Crusaders have been left without a home venue, as it’s in pretty bad shape. So the Crusaders asked the Sharks if they’d be keen to play the game in London instead.
The Crusaders need the money as they’ve been forced to play their home games in small stadiums such Trafalgar Park in Nelson.
When I heard the news about the possibility I was quite excited at the prospect of the English having the chance to see some decent rugby for a change. I can imagine it must be quite tough for them having to watch their “Premiership” week in and week out.
But now the English Rugby Union has turned down the request due to the logistical challenges of hosting the match. What’s wrong with these people? Don’t they remember that they used to run the whole world? And now they can’t even host a rugby match.
Typical.
