You read that headline and thought, why should I care? Well I’ll tell you why, cause giant holes in the moon are a big deal, especially since they present an amazing real-estate opportunity.
The Indian Space Research Organization are to thank for making this incredible discovery. Call me naïve, but I don’t know which is more surprising, the fact that they found a giant cave, or that India has a space research organization.
Anyway, the cave is more than 1,7 kilometres long and 120 metres wide. And, as a result, the Indian researchers have proposed that it could possibly be used by future generations as a base, what with it being protected from radiation, micro-meteor impacts, dust and extreme temperature changes.
So if you’ve been saving up for that overpriced pad in Clifton, perhaps you should hold onto your well-earned money a little longer. Look, you may have to wait for the apocalypse, but then when the rest of your friends are whinging about the cramped conditions of their space pod, you’ll be living it up in your own moon grotto.
