Forget the yacht; right now, submarines are where it’s at. So it’s pretty handy that the ‘Ego’ submergable craft by Korean company Raonhaje is going to be available a little later in the year; I mean yes the name is a little silly, but that’s okay because you’ll be the kind of person that owns a submarine.
This thing hits that median line between speed-boat and fixie bike we’ve all been yearning for.
Says Design Boom:
“billing itself as the world’s ‘first compact semi submarine’, the ‘ego’ craft by korean company raonhaje
is built around a submergeable core, permitting the private enclosed underwater excursions
of individuals, couples, and families.with a maximum speed of five knots, the boat is motored through podded propulsion,
powered by 12 8-volt marine batteries. in addition to being more ecologically sustainable,
the electric design also permits the craft to bypass restrictions on entry into protected marine environments.”
See? It’s more ecologically sustainable than other subs too! So you know, moral superiority, marine submersion. Also it’s private, so you could paint it yellow.
No prices yet, but buy one. In October.
