Since the earthquake measuring 6.3 in magnitude struck Christchurch during their lunch time, several sportsmen have voiced their concern and support for those affected.
Christchurch City declared a State of Emergency at 2.45pm local time and emergency response and medical teams were deployed around the city.
Here are some of the messages of support from Kiwi sportsmen across the world.

“Hope everyone in Chch is ok. Some worried boys here in India. Be safe.”

It is remarkable that Twitter continues to dissolve the boundaries between the so-often-seen-as-lofty-stars-and-celebrities and users who aren’t in the public eye. In the wake of the world’s latest natural disaster or national protest (against a megalomaniacal cross-dresser), Twitter is certainly proof that we’re all in this together, supporting the desperate.
