There was like so much drama (insert nasal whine) at the Joburg Fashion week. David Tlale’s finale on the Nelson Mandela Bridge started two hours late, which lead to many people leaving before it started, and several sad little schmodels. See, Derek Zoolander was right; life’s hard, even when you’re really, really, ridiculously good looking.
Tlale, South Africa’s very own Mugatu, eventually arrived at his throne, where he proceeded to wallow in his own ‘greatness’ for another 30 minutes before the show finally commenced. This left a couple of celebrities and members of the international media in a huff, especially since the collection (apparently) wasn’t that amazing.
Still no word on why Mr. Tlale was so late, but my bet is on the hair. I mean, that afro doesn’t comb itself.
