The National Enquirer, a bstion of critical and investigative journalism in the United States, has reported that Apple Inc. CEO and Messiah of the Cult Of Apple, Steve Jobs, has six weeks left to live, give or take a few days.
Jobs suffered pancreatic cancer in 2004, and had a liver transplant in 2009. Jobs recently sparked rumours of a cancer relapse after he too a medical leave of absence.
The National Enquirer published the “revelations” following this medical comment:
One critical care physician, Dr. Samuel Jacobson said of the pictures (via Econ): “Judging from the photos, he is close to terminal. I would say he has six weeks. He is emaciated and looks to have lost a lot of muscle mass, which spells a poor prognosis.”
Given that the National Enquirer is the US equivalent of Die Son, one might ought not put too much stock in the solidity of the National Enquirer’s prediction.
But that didn’t stop Apple’s stock from tumbling five points. Sigh.
