David Beckham’s Libel Claim Rejected – David Beckham has failed in his bid to prove a prostitute who claimed he paid her $10,000 for sex had lied. A judge in Los Angeles threw out his £25m libel and slander lawsuit against a US magazine that published the claims of Irma Nici. US District Judge Manuel Real said in his ruling that Beckham is a public figure and his lawyers had failed to show any evidence “In Touch” published the story with malice. He also said that allegations of any infidelity by Beckham would be of interest to the public. Can’t believe the judge’s surname is ‘Real.’ [telegraph]
