It was always going to be sad day when we said goodbye to SJP and the girls, well for some people anyway, but the good news is (and again for some) is that Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively will be playing the young Carrie in Summer And The City.

It is the second novel by Candace Bushnell, who first wrote The Carrie Diaries about Carrie Bradshaw’s teenage years.

Summer And The City takes up where The Carrie Diaries left off and follows the 19-year-old Carrie’s move from Connecticut to NYC.

SATC producer Michael Patrick King wants Blake Lively to play the young Carrie.

“There are no plans to bring SJP and the other girls back together in the old format,” says an insider. “The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie’s first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.”

This could get interesting girls.
