A supermarket in Arkansas has caused a stir by placing a ‘family shield’ in front of the US Weekly cover which features Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, cradling their adopted baby boy. NSFW if your screen is within the vicinity of small homophobic children.
So here’s the US Weekly cover…
And here’s the ‘shield’…
Apparently the nudie magazines were deemed safe for ‘young shoppers’! Anyhow, this story has a happy ending, unless you’re a homophobe, as the store has decided to take the ‘shield’ down due to the media frenzy it started. Sanity is restored once again. Although, I feel like they’re onto something with those ‘shields’, if only they could put them in front of things your children shouldn’t see, like those evil bridal magazines.
