Foreigners have been meddling in US affairs again and told them, like you would a naughty school child, that they’re not allowed to have any more sweets. Except in this case they’re not allowed to have any more sodium thiopental.
Sodium thiopental is the drug that US States use to lethally inject their murderers, terrorists and other beastly miscreants.
Foreign health authorities don’t allow the selling of the cure-all if it’s used to erase sin, and won’t buy the drug from companies that sell it to governments that use it to expedite the transition from life to death. As a result the only company in the USA that still makes the wonder drug, Hospira, has decided to cease production, as no one wants to do business with them due to the blood on their hands (righteous or no).
The shortage of sodium thiopental has left California and Oklahoma all dressed up with nowhere to go, and they have since stayed some of their executions. But not to worry lovers of justice. Although there may be a lengthy wait, all those prisoners will be mercifully killed using some other new drug like pentobarbital, which Swiss assisted-suicide practitioners are apparently fond of.
