Just before the soccer world cup we brought you a story about a deranged restaurant owner in Arizona serving up lion’s meat as a cute homage to SA. Now those yanks are at it again. This time in a different restaurant in the same carnivorous state. They just can’t keep their hands off our cats.

Boca Tacos restaurant owner Bryan Mazon likes to feature all kinds of animals during his Exotic Wednesdays extravaganzas that’s been running for a while now. His wife/chef Maria Jose Mazon has cooked up python, alligator, elk, kangaroo and rattlesnake. The rattlesnake was a particular favourite.

Now Bryan has set his sights on Africa announcing on Boca’s Facebook page that the UA-area taco shop was accepting prepaid orders for lion. The plan is to put the lion’s meat on tacos and sell it to humans for $8.75.

Even though our canned lion industry is doing very well at the moment I’m not sure we have enough product to satisfy Arizona’s needs. They seem to crave lion there.

Best will be to ween them off lion and get them hooked on problem animals like jackal and baboons. Then we can work together. People helping people.
