I’m not sure how to feel about this. Scottish Spirits is testing out canned whiskey in South America on the grounds that outdoor drinkers would rather not have to lug a bottle of the stuff around. You also look like less of an insane drunk if you’re taking sips from a pretty coloured can instead of swigs from a bottle of scotch, so there’s that.
Now I get that this is going to offend purists who have enough money to be able to taste how many times the barley got malted, but come on – we live in the future. Everything we eat should be in pill form and everything we drink should come in cans. And these particular cans contain eight shots of booze, which is never a bad thing.
This is fantastic and it is going to taste terrible and I can’t wait to acquire some. And it might not take too long! Chief executive at Scottish Spirits, Manish Panshal, says
“We are really thrilled with the idea – it’s going to be a part of every lifestyle and occasion. The can is the perfect size to be shared between three people who can mix it with other things, like cola.”
