The Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village’s website was hacked this morning by someone using the cypher “Legacy123”. Legacy left a cheery little Christmas note for the Cape Quarter Website admins, and a link to an offensive security hacking forum, xtremeroot.net. The Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village is the home of 2oceansvibe Radio’s studios.
Legacy123 is a member of xtremeroot.net, which appears to be a forum in part dedicated to educational hacking and website security consultation. In other words, members hack sites in order to point out security flaws.
While frustrating for Cape Quarter, they can at least concede that the hack did have a a touch of creative humour. Watch the video to get the full experience.
We’re waiting on Legacy123’s comment.
